Hello! āļŠāļ§ัāļŠāļีāļ่āļ°! This note is a summary of our science lesson about how plants grow. It follows our cool video script and the pages from our book. Let's review so you can be a science superstar! :-)
Key Points (āļāļĢāļ°āđāļ็āļāļŠāļģāļัāļ)
- All plants
grow, change, and have a life cycle (āļ§ัāļāļัāļāļĢāļีāļ§ิāļ).
- The life cycle
of most plants starts from a seed (āđāļĄāļĨ็āļ).
- A seed needs soil
(āļิāļ), water
(āļ้āļģ), and care to
grow.
- The first part
to grow from a seed is the root (āļĢāļēāļ).
Key Vocabulary (āļāļģāļĻัāļāļ์āļŠāļģāļัāļ)

1. What is a Seed? (āđāļĄāļĨ็āļāļืāļāļāļ°āđāļĢāļāļ°?)
A seed is a very
important part of a plant. It holds the baby plant inside! There are many
different kinds of seeds. They have different properties (āļĨัāļāļĐāļāļ°) such
as size, colour, and shape.

2. How Does a Seed Grow? (āđāļĄāļĨ็āļāļืāļāđāļิāļāđāļāđāļ้āļāļĒ่āļēāļāđāļĢ?)
When we plant a seed,
it starts an amazing process called germination (āļāļēāļĢāļāļāļ). Let's
look at the steps for our tomato seed!

1.
Planting |
We place the seed
in the soil and give it water. |
A tomato seed is
placed on top of the soil. |

2.
Waiting |
We wait for a few
days. The magic is happening underground! |
The seed is under
the soil, getting ready to grow. |
|
3.
The Root Appears! |
A white part comes
out from the seed. This is the root (āļĢāļēāļ). It
grows downwards to find water. |
A small white root
starts to peek out of the seed. |
|
4.
Getting Bigger |
The root grows
longer and stronger. |
The white root is
now longer and more visible. |
ðĪ Question: What is the white part
coming out from the seed? Answer: It's the root! (āļĄัāļāļืāļāļĢāļēāļāļั่āļāđāļāļ!)

3. Let's Plant! (āļĄāļēāļāļĨูāļāļ้āļāđāļĄ้āļัāļāđāļāļāļ°!)
You can be a
scientist too! Just follow these easy steps from our book activity to plant
your own tomato seeds.
- Prepare (āđāļāļĢีāļĒāļĄ): Get your tomato
seeds, a flowerpot, and some soil.
- Put soil in the
flowerpot (āđāļŠ่āļิāļ): Fill
your pot with soil.
- Place seeds (āļ§āļēāļāđāļĄāļĨ็āļ): Put the seeds
in the soil and cover them with a little more soil.
- Continue to
care (āļูāđāļĨāļ่āļāđāļื่āļāļ): Water your
seeds and observe them every day. Let's see what happens! ☀️
